Shenani-Sunday, Behind the Fashion Seams

Hello my readers, followers, fellow bloggers, and random visitors that have dropped by to say Hello on this lovely Sunday! I wanted to have a more runway inspired entry today. I find fashion runway shows fascinating! Just the culture of it all. And so, here are some pictures of what goes on behind the scenes before the runway beats drop, before the lights go on and the celebrities have taken their seats in the front row, some seemingly peaceful moments among the craziness before the production begins. I hope you can find inspiration for your own daily strut, whether you are on the runway, or just on your way to work. I hope you get to enjoy the journey and feel great about yourself along the way!

Shenani-Sunday!

Hello Followers! I hope this finds you lovely, healthy and happy on this amazing Sunday! I wanted to take a moment to discuss my blog credo as I think it may possibly be a very unique approach to fashion. My focus is to inspire fashion, and to attempt to be fashion as much as I can while at the same time letting the judgement of it all fade into the darkness a little bit. It is mostly in regards to judgement that I would like this blog to stand apart. In the fashion industry there are so many do's and dont's that it is my belief that we can sometimes get out of hand and forget that we are talking about a person that has feelings whether we are talking about the clothes on them or how they look! Fashion is art to me and truly at the end of the day should not be taken too serious, but talking badly about others and putting them down should be. I like to imagine that I am letting my inner child pick out what I am going to wear for the day. Because that was when fashion was the most fun for me! When it had no limits or rules. And so, today, on this lovely Sunday I would like to inspire you to allow your inner child, let your emotions drive your fashion decisions. Let fashion be fun and let judgement fall away, it is unnecessary. (with only one exception of showing too much skin or wearing things that are WAY too small, that is just socially inappropriate, especially in front of children!)
Here are some Shenani-Sunday pictures, they are pictures for no real reason other than to help make your day a little more inspired and Shenani-filled! XOXO

I adore fashion photo's like this. Something about a picture from behind the model seems to create such an intimate feeling in such an incredible high fashion moment that is so very public!

My inner 4 year old would wear this and dance on top of the coffee table to some Christina Aguilara!

John Galliano is officially unemployed! Ouch!

First Dior and now his very own label!!!! The board for the John Galliano House decided to let him go after his video recorded drunken, antisemitic rant! From the top to the bottom, that is a long way to fall.
Mr. Galliano is creatively one of my favorite designers, so it is very sad to see this happen! But I have to admit at the same time that I am happy to see that there is a public backlash for this kind of behavior. What kind of a message would it send if he merely received a slap on the back of his hand?!?! Attention is being payed in the fashion world and I am glad it is acknowledging the seriousness of this kind of "conversation" in the 21st century.

John Galliano runs his mouth in the wrong direction

Break my Heart! My favorite designer was just shown on CNN saying, "I love Hitler!" And reportedly managed to fit in quite a few racial slurs in this now public video taped conversation. I have heard at this time that Galliano was suspended, and then later heard that he was let go from his position as designer for Christian Dior. This is so upsetting! I am still waiting for the dramatic dust to settle in order to allow the truth to surface...will report with more at that time. But for now, I am sad to say, that it sounds like the house of Dior made a wise decision.

Dior Fabulosity!!! Spring/Summer 2011 Madness!

Absolute Genius! Somehow Mr. Dior ALWAYS manages to stay true to his love for vintage lines, but manages to make them somehow new with every passing year. Like they have been reborn with a slight difference, and yet somehow remain the same Dior we all know and love. Thank you Christian (I like to pretend that I am on a first name basis) ! Fun! Fun! Fun! This is definitely a Haute Couture line that you can draw some Ready to Wear inspiration from. Perfection!
