Backstage at Alexis Mabille's Spring/Summer 2012 Show
I absolutely love it when designers work to do something abstract to compliment the fashion they have created! It adds that essence of allure and fantasy that I believe fashion shows are really all about. I like this make up especially because it leaves you just staring at the models almost trying to picture what they look like without the make up. It looks a little ugly at times, but mostly it is just fun! Then, it isn't until the end of the video where you really get a peek at the clothing, and it is wonderful! Two thumbs up to Alexis Mabille!

Makeup Tip: Winged Eye Liner
This is one of my best makeup tricks. I absolutely LOVE wearing winged eye liner, but getting each eye to match perfectly is a delicate art and can take forever if you don't do this every day or if you are going for a dramatic look. I found myself slowly adding to one eye and then to the other until my winged look was perfected, then looked at the clock and realized that it took me almost 10 minutes to create this drastic liner look. NO WAY! So, I learned....
First work with a regular eye liner pencil, this is easier to erase if you don't like the line you just created and you can be a little bit more brave in developing your line for a dramatic look.
Then when you are done with the pencil and happy with your liner look, you can go over your line again with a gel liner or your liquid liner. This will set your look and give you those crisp lines that we all know and love so much. You literally just fill it in and then finish off the fine edges of your line.
And VOILA! You have the dramatic eye liner effect, even on both eyes and in probably half the time...
Another Tip: Make sure you use an eye primer, this will make sure that your liner stays in place all day and night! Then if you have it, top it off with some finishing spray, Urban Decay and MAC have wonderful finishing sprays.

Halloween Makeup
Here are some inspiring pictures for Halloween makeup. You can add a twist of your own and modify these looks to accentuate your unique All Hallows Eve look. I say that makeup is the most important finishing touch to any costume/look, especially for women. Take your time, make sure it looks good and pay attention to the detail. Because people are going to be examining your look, it is a night for people watching. Get the details right! Then take lots of pictures :) (If you would like you can send them to me and I will post an entry on readers Halloween looks)
Here are some amazing looks:
Any finishing touches like the ones in this picture would make a blah costume amazing! You could be Mother Nature, or a Mermaid, or a Fairy, or Alien. Love how she played with color and then put some sparkle to it too! I am getting ideas for my costume right now!
This is a video of one of my favorite YouTube make up artists. She is so very good at what she does, she is sweet and interesting to watch. Check her out! She has some great Halloween ideas!!!
Or you can play it up with some amazing, over-the-top lashes! Love!
This look is perfect for many different costumes! LOVE IT! Notice the detail of the star shaped mole?!?! Awesome-ness!
I normally don't like makeup like this, but I had to post this one. The use of color is awesome and this is what I am talking about when I say do it once and do it right. The attention to detail is insane and makes all the difference!
This inspires me in so many ways. You can add anything to your face with Duo eyelash adhesive(that stuff is a god send!) If you are a rag doll you can add buttons, if you are a fish you can add scales with reflective plastic paper, if you are an alien you can do something like this! Super Fun!
Or if you do your makeup like this, no one is going to notice what you are dressed up as...they are going to be mesmerized by your look! I love this make up and the play with the yellow and green colors! Yah, she looks so incredibly photo shopped that she almost looks like a cartoon, but you get the idea :)
Someone knew the 1920's lips when they did this lovely ladies makeup. I am loving it! And notice how they played with the lashes and made her eyes look bigger by placing the underneath lash strip a little lower from her lash line?!?! I am ready for Halloween now! Cant wait!
Here is an amazing example of how you can make an entire look with just makeup. I am loving how she played with the bottom lash line! Its unreal : )

Olivia Wilde's look Perfected
The hair style, the highlights, the tan, the eye make up, the lip color, the dress....Olivia is on fire! I absolutely love the hue of her lip color, it is perfectly matched to her coloring. It isn't distracting to her look and yet is somehow still bold. Walking that brilliant fashion tight rope with the perfect balance and seemingly greatest of ease. Olivia Wilde...I salute you!

Dragon Fruit
I found this picture reading a blog that I recently found, check it out: http://ilovehelsinki.com
I love this picture because this is Dragon Fruit that I literally became obsessed with when I was in Cambodia with my sweetheart and his family! I think I ate it just about every morning for breakfast. It has kind of a watermelon taste to it and the texture is very similar too. If you ever get the chance to have some, don't miss out! I miss it so much!

Tom Ford my Heart!
He is an amazingly brilliant and talented designer! I love the variation in models, he uses models and other fashionable individuals like Beyonce and Daphnie Guiness proving that all shapes and sizes should be celebrated. And his runway show looks intimate and fun. The man is adorable and he knows how to throw a fashion party! LOVE IT!

Long Skirt.
I just adore the idea of this once perfect dress skirt becoming an everyday item because of its wear and tear. Super fun look! And a great look that can be accomplished with shopping at Vintage stores. My FAVORITE! Always a good idea to put this ensemble together with imperfect hair, and flawless makeup.
