Sunday Shenanigans
Hello Blogger's and Reader's. Let's make today an absolutely lovely Sunday!
Live like it is your last day..... Smell the air, go for a walk, call an old friend, call a new friend, do something you have always wanted to do, or remind someone in your life that you care about them. Being a bereavement counselor reminds me every day that life is a gift and happiness is something that we have to create for ourselves, sometimes we even have to fight for it. I hope you can create some happiness and cultivate peace for yourself today!
I am absolutely LOVING these looks. With fur and military green. Yummy!
Inspiration to pair a long skirt with a long coat!
Or inspiration to pair a long skirt with a shorter Jacket....that obviously works too! Love all black during the winter, when you are out and about you can't go wrong!
Some more Dior, just because I love it! Dior knows how to be theatrical and chic at the same time. J'Adore Dior!
This is from H&M 2009 Fall/Winter collection. But it is still relevant obviously!
Loving the red coats I have been seeing this year. Very Chic to work with bold colors!
Take an old sweater and wrap it around then finish off with a cinch belt and you are set! Loving this orange/red color!
My Sunday Shenanigans picture choices are so totally random and yet somehow each entry has a little bit of a theme that comes through in my unconscious design. Can you tell?!?! HA HA! Love the color blocking that is happening this season with like colors! Absolutely lovely!
I am just adoring the hair turban that I believe June Ambrose might have brought back to fashion in a really chic way! I have a black one I bought from BCBG about two seasons ago. It adds edge to any outfit, but you have to make sure you accentuate either your lips or your eyes in a big way to support the look! Super Fun!
Love this photo. I have a black wig at home that I borrowed from my friend Alex. Going to take some pictures with it and will post them for you to see.

I am LOVING this idea of adding tulle over horns, it softens the look and makes it so very goth! Or you could do some lace, that would be new and super awesome! See, simple and yet it completely transforms a costume!

Don't forget to dress up the pets! Aren't they just adorable!

I love this idea of having a half mask out of lace. You could simply buy lace and apply with the Duo lash adhesive! Wonderful inspiration!

See through Skirts
This style has been up and coming for a while, but in my opinion it has not faded yet and I think will continue into Spring/Summer in 2012, and (shhhh) it will be reinvented over and over again in wonderful and amazing ways! So, I am currently on the hunt for the perfect see through, lace skirt. And for me this is just a little shopping inspiration...

| photo courtesy of: http://coolechicstylefashion.blogspot.com/ I love the idea of covering up under the lace so that something can delicately peek through! Super perfect skirt to buy because it would be easy to layer!!! |
There is something very vintage about the dress in the picture above, and then the netted lace is very modern and introduces a kind of rocker edginess! Incredibly FUN!

Kristin Chenoweth in a Miguelina Dress at CMT Movie Awards
I absolutely Adore Kristin Chenoweth! She is spunky and always seems to have her amazing smile on her face. Her red carpet fashion moments are amazing and the woman never seems to have a bad hair day! And so, tonight I hope this fashion moment gives you inspiration. Wear your smile proud, you are never fully dressed without it. And make your night fabulous!

1920's Fashion
During this era U.S. history was changing...World War I had ended and women were granted the right to vote... =>Enter the Flapper! She was a liberal and free-thinking woman who wore short skirts, sheer stockings, had a short hair cut, which was also known as "the bob" which many times was styled in a finger waive. And she wore drastically dark makeup with art deco jewelry. The Flapper was considered youthful and boyish, as they abandoned curves and restricted corsets for a more loose fitting dress with strait lines. Flappers were pioneers in many ways, and fashion was just used (as it was intended to be) as an outlet for expression. I think for the flapper; her style was an expression of change, freedom, and liberation. She herself allowed her fashion to be an expression of free thinking. It was the fashion that flipped upside down the idea of femininity and allowed women to take control over what it expresses about them as individuals and as American women.

In LUV with Lace these days!
For some reason the designs that are coming out with lace have been catching my eye lately. I know it is a fashion trend that is on the up and up, but I think that it is also being handled in a very elegant and dainty way this fashion trend go-round! Everyone should have a lace dress in their repertoire. It doesn't hurt if it was designed by Valentino either....

1st: A clear coat of Primer.
2nd, cut out the lace to fit your fails as close as you can (fit to each individual nail).
3rd, polish can be clear or the color that you would like underneath the nail. Coat one nail immediately place the lace on top, then proceed to the next nail.
4th, make sure lace is laying as flat as possible on the nail (rolling a tooth pick along the top and tapping down gently in the edges should help with this step)
4th, With a delicate pair of scissors, cut away any loose edges.
5th, put your clear coat of polish on top to seal the deal.
And VOILA!
Step # 6, ENJOY!
