RuPaul's Drag Race....My Television Obsession!
Can I just say...That there is something that I think many women adore about a man in drag! Or maybe I should just speak for myself, "There is something that I absolutely AH-DORE about a man in drag!" Its the makeup, the dresses, over the top attitude, glitter, sky high heels and the perfectly over-sized wigs! I love it all! Its fierce and fabulous! And deserves exclamation points at the end of every sentence!
In my opinion there is no drag queen more ah-mazing than RuPaul! I have been a RuPaul fan since the 90's! And this show is just stunning to watch: Here is Episode 15, from Season 3: Grand Finale.

Fur Fabulosity!
In the 21st century the mere mention of fur evokes a few little nervous butterflies from just about every Fashion loving woman. We have seen the PETA video's! Anyone who watches Sex and the City knows how ruthless PETA advocates can be. They splash a cup filled with animal blood all over a model, who is just doing her job...or runs in front of her on the runway with a sign (distracting from thousand dollars worth of runway production and fashion). We also consciously know deep down, in that fashion-guilty pit of our stomachs, that we are wearing something that was killed for us to buy/for money/for senseless reasons! I get what is going on, and fully support efforts to both raise awareness and to keep further animal killings from happening for the sake of fashion!
So, in this blog entry let me start by saying that I am not for aggressively obtained fur, and I am not against fur in general. I fully support protecting our animals! I buy only vintage fur, and make sure I buy faux when it is a modern piece.
So, for the record; this blogger is in favor if environmentally friendly productions of fake fur, vintage purchases, and current real furs that were made from animals that passed naturally in their own habitats. (Oscar De La Renta has a line out that is obscenely expensive, but justified once you hear that they are furs from animals that died naturally.)
There is something about fur that is just so luxurious, it makes me feel like a little girl wearing my little heels (I called them my darlings, because every time I wore them my Mommy told me that I was darling!) Fur makes me want to wear red lipstick on a daily basis. And dress up no matter where I am going. Its chic, its fancy and I love it!
It is a luxury, lets just make sure we are animal friendly, conscious consumers : ) Right my Shenani-Followers?!?!

Perfect Eyebrows! Always a must.
The shape of your eyebrows is not a one size fits all type of ordeal! Your brow should be as individual as your fashion sense. Girls let there friends reek havoc with a tweezers...DON'T DO THIS!!! You will end up bitter and a little resentful towards your friend even though you knew they were just trying to do their best. But the damage will be done and it will not grow back for quite some time, and unless you know how to fill them in your will be in a little bit of trouble.
The measurements for your eyebrows should come from your unique racial measurements.
With a great shape little bit of brow pencil or shadow with an angled liner brush, voila! You can thicken them, you can add to the arch, you can exaggerate them (I love to exaggerate them when I wear red lipstick), they will look great no matter what you do just as long as you stick to you unique facial measurements!
Here is a picture to assist:
If you would like to exaggerate your measurements, I always like to use the side of the tip of my nose as the base point for the rest of my measurements, instead of the side of my nostril.
Line number 2 is often where women falter. If the arch is wrong it will make the rest of your facial measurements look a little off kilter.
The other biggest mistake that women make is not filling them in, make sure your brows have a presence on your face, they should be colored to your desired hue to coordinate or contrast your hair color, but most importantly...make sure those lines/edges are smooth!
Here are some people with wonderful brows:
And here are some examples of how all different shaped brows can look ah-mazing!
I am a HUGE fan of Threading, which is an art that I was told originated from India. I like it because your brow specialist is already working with a strait line, so it is hard to get anything wobbly : )
Plus, my skin is sensitive and used to break out when wax was involved, wax is a very imperfect art and it is even easier to do damage with it than with tweezers!
Shade in those brows ladies. Play with them, change them, but stick with the measurement tool and you will NEVER go wrong!
Happy Friday my fabulous Shenani-followers!

Haute and Crazy Runway Monday!
Haute Couture is where imagination can run wild in Fashion form. Where crazy can take shape and transform our understanding of how limitless the possibilities can really be.

A Treat from my Sweet!
My very sweet and thoughtful man had dinner waiting for me last night....wait, wait....not just dinner!!! He cleaned my entire apartment from top to bottom (which he knows I adore due to my limited free time), went to bat with the cable company for hours on the phone for me (and fixed the problem!), opened a bottle of red wine (my fav.), had lit just about every candle that I own and played my absolute favorite CD for me (Sarah McLaughlin, Surfacing)! (Whew)
AND had a wonderful dinner for us (that we ate while listening to the rain coming down outside)! Let me tell you...it meant so much to me!
And so...I write today to pay tribute a priority:
Remember to treat the ones you love like today is your last. It is all so precious!
And...Thank you sweetie for everything and for being YOU!
If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded.
