I am LOVING this idea of adding tulle over horns, it softens the look and makes it so very goth! Or you could do some lace, that would be new and super awesome! See, simple and yet it completely transforms a costume!

Don't forget to dress up the pets! Aren't they just adorable!

I love this idea of having a half mask out of lace. You could simply buy lace and apply with the Duo lash adhesive! Wonderful inspiration!

Halloween Makeup

Here are some inspiring pictures for Halloween makeup. You can add a twist of your own and modify these looks to accentuate your unique All Hallows Eve look. I say that makeup is the most important finishing touch to any costume/look, especially for women. Take your time, make sure it looks good and pay attention to the detail. Because people are going to be examining your look, it is a night for people watching. Get the details right! Then take lots of pictures :) (If you would like you can send them to me and I will post an entry on readers Halloween looks)
Here are some amazing looks:

Any finishing touches like the ones in this picture would make a blah costume amazing! You could be Mother Nature, or a Mermaid, or a Fairy, or Alien. Love how she played with color and then put some sparkle to it too! I am getting ideas for my costume right now!

This is a video of one of my favorite YouTube make up artists. She is so very good at what she does, she is sweet and interesting to watch. Check her out! She has some great Halloween ideas!!!

Or you can play it up with some amazing, over-the-top lashes! Love!

This look is perfect for many different costumes! LOVE IT! Notice the detail of the star shaped mole?!?! Awesome-ness!

I normally don't like makeup like this, but I had to post this one. The use of color is awesome and this is what I am talking about when I say do it once and do it right. The attention to detail is insane and makes all the difference!

This inspires me in so many ways. You can add anything to your face with Duo eyelash adhesive(that stuff is a god send!) If you are a rag doll you can add buttons, if you are a fish you can add scales with reflective plastic paper, if you are an alien you can do something like this! Super Fun!

Or if you do your makeup like this, no one is going to notice what you are dressed up as...they are going to be mesmerized by your look! I love this make up and the play with the yellow and green colors! Yah, she looks so incredibly photo shopped that she almost looks like a cartoon, but you get the idea :)

Someone knew the 1920's lips when they did this lovely ladies makeup. I am loving it! And notice how they played with the lashes and made her eyes look bigger by placing the underneath lash strip a little lower from her lash line?!?! I am ready for Halloween now! Cant wait!

Here is an amazing example of how you can make an entire look with just makeup. I am loving how she played with the bottom lash line! Its unreal : )

Or you can add a very Gothic twist to a very girlie look and take some notes from Hollywood!
The best advice I can give to complete your makeup look is to print out a picture so that you can remember all the details. I am telling you that it will make all the difference in the world!

Halloween Hair

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because it's the one time of year that my little 5 year old inside gets to play dress up in a wild way. I have to be honest...I don't really like spending a lot of money on my costume. I usually raid my little sisters closet, she has all kinds of wild things lurking around! Then I thrift shop. But the finishing touches that really pull together a costume for me is the hair and make-up. And so, until Halloween arrives, I am going to try and drop some blogging inspiration to help you add those amazing finishing touches that will take your costume from cheesy to perfection!
Today we look at hair:

This hair would be perfect if you wove some snake heads into it. Put gel in your hair while it is wet and twist into dreadlocks. Make sure you hair spray the ends to get it to stay, spray while it is wet, spray when it is drying, just spray! The twisting might take a while and I suggest asking for help from a wonderful friend. You could be a snake charmer or Medusa! How Fun!

Some wire and a ton of hair spray, then braid up the wire and you are set! WOW!

This is actually much easier to accomplish than you think. Strait or curly, this is do-able. You can put little twists down the middle of your hair and pin them down, leaving the ends sticking out. Then you can leave the ends strait, crimp them, or curl them. Voila!

This hair is impossible to do yourself, but I had to post a picture! Awesome!
This is insane and you might need a can or two of hair spray and a friend to help, but how fun!

Some of you might remember this hair style from Gwen Stefani. It is basically a french twist where you twist your hair from the bottom up to the front of your head, leaving you with the length to play with on the front. You can swipe it smooth across the front, you can fluff it up, or pin it to make bangs. But a twist like this always leaves a very high class vintage feel :) Lovely!

Perfect for the princess or pixie costume. This will add an unusual flair to the common costume!

Or you can take a common style that you are familiar with and then just make it bigger and more...well...Halloween!

Hair props should ALWAYS be encouraged during Halloween! Its the one time of year that you can just get wild with it :)

This is the perfect time to bust out your hot pink hair crimper from the 80's ladies. Play with extensions and texture! LOVE this!

And I just had to post this picture because what girl has not at some point wanted to be the bride of Frankenstein?!?! Her hair is Halloween magic!

My Casual Chic

Out for a dinner date with my sweet heart. Thought I would be comfortable in all ways other than my Steve Madden heels. These shoes literally make my foot face strait down, but they are so pretty and I love the color, I have had them for years :) But thats why I wear them out to dinner, because I will not be walking much! This is a bracelet that I "borrowed" from my little sister. I seem to be doing that a lot lately :) This shirt is Obey. The pants are my comfortable go-to's, they are XOXO. My earrings are ASOS. My three finger ring is Rachel Roy.

I absolutely LOVE that his models have a style! They are all different shapes and sizes, have tattoo's and a look to them! That's what I would do if I were a designer!

Love how the white tulle peeks out in the front of this dress. It almost creates an illusion where it looks like she is standing on a platform. Mystical and fun!

Holy attention to detail!

Sigh...I am loving his crazy hip hugging dresses. They make me want to go to the gym and slim up so that I can wear something like this :)

I love this picture! I adore the fact that she is wearing stilts under her dress to make her look long and tall. She is like a creature from a fairy tale. After all...isnt that what haute couture is really all about... Creating looks that inspire our imaginations?!?!
