Halloween Hair

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because it's the one time of year that my little 5 year old inside gets to play dress up in a wild way. I have to be honest...I don't really like spending a lot of money on my costume. I usually raid my little sisters closet, she has all kinds of wild things lurking around! Then I thrift shop. But the finishing touches that really pull together a costume for me is the hair and make-up. And so, until Halloween arrives, I am going to try and drop some blogging inspiration to help you add those amazing finishing touches that will take your costume from cheesy to perfection!
Today we look at hair:

This hair would be perfect if you wove some snake heads into it. Put gel in your hair while it is wet and twist into dreadlocks. Make sure you hair spray the ends to get it to stay, spray while it is wet, spray when it is drying, just spray! The twisting might take a while and I suggest asking for help from a wonderful friend. You could be a snake charmer or Medusa! How Fun!

Some wire and a ton of hair spray, then braid up the wire and you are set! WOW!

This is actually much easier to accomplish than you think. Strait or curly, this is do-able. You can put little twists down the middle of your hair and pin them down, leaving the ends sticking out. Then you can leave the ends strait, crimp them, or curl them. Voila!

This hair is impossible to do yourself, but I had to post a picture! Awesome!

This is insane and you might need a can or two of hair spray and a friend to help, but how fun!

Some of you might remember this hair style from Gwen Stefani. It is basically a french twist where you twist your hair from the bottom up to the front of your head, leaving you with the length to play with on the front. You can swipe it smooth across the front, you can fluff it up, or pin it to make bangs. But a twist like this always leaves a very high class vintage feel :) Lovely!

Perfect for the princess or pixie costume. This will add an unusual flair to the common costume!

Or you can take a common style that you are familiar with and then just make it bigger and more...well...Halloween!

Hair props should ALWAYS be encouraged during Halloween! Its the one time of year that you can just get wild with it :)

This is the perfect time to bust out your hot pink hair crimper from the 80's ladies. Play with extensions and texture! LOVE this!

And I just had to post this picture because what girl has not at some point wanted to be the bride of Frankenstein?!?! Her hair is Halloween magic!
